Authorities identify 77-year-old who died after crash with loaded log truck in western Wisconsin

SPRING BROOK, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in western Wisconsin identified the 77-year-old man who died after a crash involving a semi-truck hauling logs on Wednesday morning.

According to an updated release, the victim was identified as Wayne Myers.

Deputies with the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a semi-truck that was involved in a crash with an SUV at the intersection of 710th Street and 240th Avenue in the town of Spring Brook.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a loaded log truck was traveling east on 240th Avenue, and the SUV, operated by Myers, was southbound on 710th Street.

There was a stop sign on 710th Street at the intersection, and Myers did not stop and continued through the intersection, where the collision happened.

Myers was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck, who remains unidentified, was not injured.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash, and no additional details have been provided.
