Backyard baby found in Fresno was a girl, search for parents continues, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The baby who was found dead in a Fresno backyard on Tuesday has been identified as a girl, the Fresno Police Department announced on Monday, but no other information about the child or her parents has been released.

Police say an autopsy conducted Saturday determined that the baby girl was born sometime close to the discovery of her body.

The Fresno Police Department says there is a chance that the baby may have been stillborn, however, detectives are still working to determine the cause of death.

Investigators continue to look for the infant’s parents. A $5,000 reward has been offered to those who have any tips that lead to the identification of the baby and her parents.
