Bakersfield man charged with federal child exploitation and child pornography charges

A federal grand jury indicted a Bakersfield man Thursday on two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of receipt of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of California.

According to the agency, Rafael Omero Plata Guerrero, 34, made videos of two minors engaging in sexual actions between April 15 and Aug. 26. Guerrero also received child pornography between June 1 and Aug. 27.

If found guilty of the sexual exploitation charges, Guerrero could face up to 30 years in prison and if found guilty of the child pornography charge, he could face up to 20 years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of California.
