Julie Clemmer

District, city and community leaders bid a fond farewell to Clemmer on June 26 as she and her husband, Bob, are retiring.

Those who spoke included Superintendent Deanna Swearingen, former Superintendent Jeff Malan, former Board of Trustees member and Barstow Councilmember Barbara Rose.

Former Trustee Clemmer served on the Barstow Unified School District Board of Trustees for more than 20 years, beginning in 2003. During her time on the board, she held the position of president, vice president, clerk and trustee.

“Her commitment and service to the students and staff of Barstow Unified School District and her heart for children, providing them with the best educational experiences possible, is something all of us in BUSD will carry forward,” district officials stated.
