Benton teachers enjoy free coffee Wednesday morning

Sep. 4—Benton High School teachers and staff started their Wednesday with a free coffee from Hazel's Coffee truck thanks to the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce and Missouri Western State University.

The Chamber has partnered with businesses and organizations throughout the area in order to provide coffee and break room supplies to educators this fall.

Benton's principal, Katie Reid, expressed gratitude for the coffee and supplies given to the school.

"To know that we have so many different organizations and companies supporting us here in education, in the city, it just makes you feel like what you're doing matters to everyone," Reid said. "And that's what teachers are here to do, is to make a difference. So, it's great when people see that."

Benton is the eighth school to be visited by a coffee truck thanks to multiple sponsors from around St. Joseph.

Along with Benton, Missouri Western sponsored coffee for educators at St. Joseph Christian, Lafayette, DeKalb, Mid Buchanan and Central.

Every school in Buchanan County will be visited by Oct. 28.
