Biden campaign seizes on Trump’s ‘I don’t care about you’ line
President Biden’s reelection campaign seized on former President Trump saying he doesn’t care about people but just needs their vote with a new video Monday.
The former president held a rally Sunday in Las Vegas, where temperatures climbed to more than 100 degrees and he fumed over technical difficulties, threatening not to pay the crew. The Biden campaign made a video of Trump saying at the rally that he doesn’t need every voter to support him.
“Because I don’t want anyone going on me, we need every voter. I don’t care about you, I just want your vote. I don’t care,” Trump said.
An image of Biden then appears and the ad reads, “I’m Joe Biden and I approve this message.”
The president is trailing Trump in Nevada with 45.6 percent compared to the former president’s 49 percent, according to an aggregation of polls from Decision Desk HQ/The Hill.
Nevada is a critical state for Biden to win in 2024 after he won it in 2020 with more than 50 percent of the vote, compared to Trump’s nearly 48 percent.
The Biden campaign has dropped multiple videos over the last week, attacking Trump over his rhetoric.
The campaign hit him over his comments about veterans in a video on Friday, and in a video Thursday, the campaign dropped an ad featuring three veterans who slammed Trump as a “draft dodger” and argued that he’s unfit to be commander in chief to mark the anniversary of the D-Day landings.
