Block party encourages safe summer for local kids

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County are teaming up once again to encourage teenagers to stay out of trouble this summer.

As part of the Summer of Nonviolence Program, local officials hosted a block party in southeast Albuquerque on Sunday.

The party at Wilson Pool featured free swimming, music, food, break dancing contests, and a skate jam with cash prizes.
