Box of ‘free kittens’ found at Williamson Medical Center

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A shoebox labelled “free kittens” was found at Williamson Medical Center on Sunday, according to the Williamson County Animal Center (WCAC).

In a Facebook post, WCAC said that a citizen found the box and brought the box to WCAC, where they were placed in a foster home and will be adoptable in a few weeks.

“Abandonment of animals is illegal and our animal control officers have started an investigation,” the post read.

WCAC added that they are currently using digital food scales to monitor the kittens’ weights. However, their supply of those scales is low, so they encouraged anyone who wants to help to find a scale and donate it to the shelter or purchase one from their Amazon wishlist.

“We would like to remind everyone that for Williamson County residents, we have a kitten rescue and rehome program and will spay or neuter any cat that spends any time outside for free,” the post read. “For more information, please visit our website.
