AC/DC singer Brian Johnson races the Daytona 24 Hours, gets man card bronzed

The Rolex 24 at Daytona endurance race was so grueling this year that the driver of the winning Ford-powered Daytona prototype had to be helped from the car due to leg cramps. Among those who braved it: Brian Johnson, lead singer of AC/DC and avowed car nut, shaking it all night long.

Johnson, whose memoir "Rockers and Rollers" was as much about cars as music, has successfully raced vintage sports cars for years. This weekend's drive was the first in a Daytona prototype, a 500-hp spec-built car that can be built with engines from several different manufacturers. The BMW Riley car driven by Johnson, Byron Defoor, Elliott Forbes-Robinson, Jim Pace and Carlos de Quesada finished 32nd, after completing 672 laps.
