Brevard County residents breaking records during early voting

Brevard residents are turning out in record numbers for early in-person voting for the Nov. 5 election, according to the Supervisor of Elections Office.

Brevard County has 443,047 eligible voters. As of Friday afternoon, more than 28% have voted – more than 64,450 voted early in-person and 61,250 voted by mail.

There are 10 sites throughout Brevard County that opened Oct. 21 for early in-person voting. The precincts are open until Nov. 2.

“We’ve had four days of early voting in Brevard and each day our turnout has surpassed prior year’s numbers,” said Tim Bobanic, Brevard County’s Supervisor of Elections.

Monday saw 13,210 in-person voters. Tuesday, 13,629 voters turned out. Wednesday there were 14,431 and Thursday 13,384 voted.

Check wait times before voting in-person early

The Supervisor of Elections office has live wait times available at VoteBrevard.gov.

“Feedback from voters has been very positive and they have said they enjoy the convenience of going to any of the 10 early voting sites to cast their ballot,” Bobanic said. “We continue to encourage voters to bring their pre-filled sample ballots to expedite their voting experience.”

As of Friday morning, Viera Regional Center has seen the most early in-person voters with 8,554.

Kiwanis Island Park Gymnasium on Merritt Island had the second most with 7,635. Wickham Community Center in Melbourne had the third most with 7,353.

The polling location with the least in-person voters, as of Friday morning, was Dr. Joe Lee Smith Community Center in Cocoa with 3,187 people voting there.

As for political parties, 34,148 Republicans have showed up early for in-person voting. Democrats have had 13,164 voters cast early in-person ballots.

Where are the early in-person voting locations in Brevard?

Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.

  • Titusville Elections Office, 400 South St., Titusville.

  • Titusville Public Library, 2121 S. Hopkins Ave., Titusville.

  • Tony Rosa Palm Bay Community Center, 1502 Port Malabar Blvd. NE, Palm Bay.

  • Viera Regional Community Center, 2300 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera.

  • Wickham Park Community Center, 2815 Leisure Way, Melbourne.
