Brief lockdown at Prince William County hospital as man shot was brought in

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said officers are investigating after a man was shot in Woodbridge Sunday evening.

Police said that at around 6:40 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting at the 14100 block of Bay Vista Drive.

Police located a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and transported him to Sentara Hospital, prompting a brief hospital lockdown as staff brought the victim into the facility for treatment, according to PWCPD.

Police said the hospital is no longer in lockdown.

In a post on the X platform at 7:48 p.m., PWCPD said residents can expect an increased police presence as officers investigate.
