Buffalo police recover over 7 pounds of suspected fentanyl, 3 firearms in search of residence

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Buffalo Police Department conducted a search warrant Tuesday that found various suspected drugs, drug paraphernalia, three guns and over $14,000 in cash, officials announced.

The search warrant was conducted on the 900 block of Northland Avenue.

Police said they found approximately 7 1/2 pounds of suspected fentanyl pills, 1 pound of suspected methamphetamine pills, 2 grams of suspected fentanyl, 2 grams of suspected powder cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and $14,910 in cash.

A Smith & Wesson Airweight revolver, a Polymer 80 “ghost gun” loaded with seven rounds, and a Taurus G3 loaded with seven rounds were also recovered.

Jarrett Gauer, 24, of Buffalo was charged with the following:

  • two counts of first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

  • two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

  • one count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon

  • three counts of criminal possession of a firearm

  • two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

  • three counts of second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia
