SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A fire broke out Friday at a four-story building with a Brazilian steakhouse and apartment units in the Gaslamp Quarter, firefighters said.

The fire occurred around 7:27 p.m. in Rei Do Gado Brazilian Steakhouse at 939 Fourth Avenue, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

Multiple buildings nearby, including one that had 1,200 guests visiting for Comic-Con viewing a movie, were forced to evacuate as well due to the blaze.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames fairly quickly, but they remain on scene to monitor the fire.

Road closures in the area have detoured Broadway bus routes 3, 225, 901, 929, 992 and Rapid 225, per the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System. Riders are advised to take the trolley if traveling through downtown.
