Bunnell man, 81, killed as he walked along road when he was struck by SUV, FHP says

An 81-year-old Bunnell man died after he was struck by an SUV when the driver swerved to avoid traffic in western Flagler County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened about 5:05 p.m. Wednesday.

A 31-year-old Bunnell woman was driving an SUV northbound on County Road 305 just south of County Road 2006. The SUV's driver failed to slow down for traffic ahead of her and swerved to the right shoulder, striking the man, the FHP stated.

The woman was not injured and was wearing a seat belt, the FHP stated.
