Cape Cod police officer facing child pornography charges

A Brewster police officer is facing charges of possession of child pornography, dissemination of child pornography, defacement of real or personal property, unlawful communication of record information, and photos taken outside of first responder’s official duties, according to a release from Brewster Police Chief Heath Eldredge.

The officer is scheduled to be arraigned in Orleans District Court today.

According to the release, "(the officer) has been relieved of duty and is on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation, which will take place in parallel with the criminal investigation being conducted by the Massachusetts State Police."
