Car hits, kills construction worker in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — The Alexandria Police Department (APD) said a man died Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle at a construction site.

According to police, at about 7:32 a.m., officers responded to a construction site in the 5700 block of Duke Street for the report of an injured person.

At the enclosed construction site, a vehicle fatally struck the man. The APD Crash Reconstruction Team responded and is investigating in collaboration with other city agencies.

The crash was still being investigated.
