Carjacking, Home Invasion Suspect Crashes Truck After 'Unbelievable' High-Speed Police Chase

A high-speed chase in two Michigan counties after an alleged home invasion and carjacking came to a dramatic end when the suspect swerved into an oncoming car on Tuesday, July 2.

Law enforcement had attempted a traffic stop after receiving several calls about a reckless driver, but ended their pursuit because the driver “nearly caused crashes,” the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO) said. The chase resumed after deputies located the same man following a report of a home invasion and carjacking, authorities said.

Dashcam footage released by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office shows the “unbelievable” chase, including the moment the suspect collided with another car, before officers took the suspect into custody.

Deputies in Ingham County had earlier flattened two of the suspect’s tires during the chase using tire deflation devices, the ICSO said.

The ICSO said the suspect was arrested and is being held on multiple felony charges.

No serious injuries were sustained in the crash, and the victim of the alleged home invasion was also unharmed, authorities said. Credit: Livingston County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
