GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Carson Lake was built in the 1940s and has served as a crucial part of Grand Junction’s water supply since.

The city decided to team up with the Colorado Wild Conservation Board and Colorado Parks and Wildlife to restore the lake and improve its safety.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife also released brook trout that will mature in the new waters of Carson Lake.
