Cat has leg amputated after being shot in Lancaster County

CONESTOGA TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) – Police in Lancaster County are looking for the person who shot a cat causing a severe injury.

State Police say on June 28 Troopers responded to the 100 block of Safe Harbor Village for a report of animal cruelty. Troopers say a stray cat was found to be limping for about a week and taken to a veterinarian clinic for evaluation.

This Week in Pennsylvania

The clinic found that the cat was shot in the shoulder and sustained a shattered shoulder. The cat will need to have its leg amputated as a result of being shot.

Troopers are investigating whether this was an intentional act or whether the cat was inadvertently shot at a nearby gun range.
