Dillion, who was planning on opening a Jamaican restuarant in the city’s Old Fourth Wood neighborhood, was driving in a vehicle around the area at the time of the fatal incident and was struck multiple times.

Crime Scene Of Shooting
A police officer waks near the spot where a youth was shot and killed by a policeman November 13, 2007 in Brooklyn, New York. After receiving a 911 call from the youth?s mother, New York City police shot and killed an 18-year-old youth who was armed with a hairbrush that was mistaken for a weapon.

In 2023, Dillon and Lil Baby opened The Seafood Menu Restaurant and Takeout in the southwest section of Atlanta, a venture that was celebrated with a massive grand opening and a testament to Dillion’s accomplishments as an entrepreneur.

The hitmaker has since acknowledged Dillon’s passing on social media, posting a photo of the two on his Instagram story with the caption “Damn big buddy get ya rest,” along with a dove emoji.

Prior to partnering with Lil Baby, Dillon opened the wildly successful restaurant The Boiler Seafood Atlanta, which is said to have sold upwards of 180K pounds of seafood, grossing more than $8 million in sales. In 2022, Dillion spoke on his approach to merging passion and profit with TravelNoire.

“I am a thinker and innovator, so even without a culinary background, I enjoy finding voids in the business market and creating solutions; creating restaurant concepts from ideation to execution, coming up with new menu items, and creating amazing customer experiences,” Dillon told the outlet at the time. “I’m also very hands-on,” he added.

VIBE sends our condolences to Chad Dillion’s family and friends.
