Some changes to Illinois’ election code will affect the presidential race in November.

Some policy changes in Illinois will impact different parts of the election process. Gov. JB Pritzker signed a proposal into law to make several tweaks to the state’s election code, ranging from how much money parties can give to candidates to increasing mail access for some voters. Our Quad Cities News Illinois Capitol Bureau correspondent Theodora Koulouvaris looks at the changes ahead.

YouTube quietly rolled out a policy change this week that allows people to request the takedown of AI-generated or other synthetic content that simulates their face or voice. The move marks a shift in opinion from YouTube, where the company is now seeing deepfakes as a privacy issue, rather than just a content moderation issue. Fisker has asked the Delaware Bankruptcy Court judge overseeing its Chapter 11 case to approve the sale of its remaining inventory of all-electric Ocean SUVs. If approved, the company will be able to offload its finished EVs to a New York-based vehicle leasing company for around $14,000 per vehicle — a steep fall from the $70,000 starting price some of them once commanded.
