Chiefs coach’s wife shares video of family’s experiences on Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl LVIII kicked off at 3:30 p.m. in Las Vegas, and that was essentially another late Sunday afternoon kickoff time for the Chiefs.

Because the Chiefs are now “America’s Team,” they play mostly in prime time or the late afternoon window that often bleeds into prime time.

Nevertheless it ended up being a long day for the Chiefs, which is partly due to them winning the Lombardi Trophy.

Assistant running backs coach Porter Ellett shared a video of his family’s experiences on Super Bowl Sunday. It was shot by his wife, Carlie, and the video began with the family and others in the Chiefs organization attending a church service on Sunday morning.

After changing into game-day gear, the Ellett family (minus Porter) went to a friends and family tailgate at Allegiant Stadium. Carlie said it was the best Super Bowl tailgate of the four she’s attended.

Then it was into the stadium.

“As a Chiefs fan, I don’t want to give the Raiders credit for anything but Allegiant Stadium was unlike any I’ve been to,” Carlie said in the video. “I can’t say enough good things about Allegiant Stadium.”

After the game, Carlie took the couple’s children down on the field and they celebrated with their dad.

“Nobody really sees the sacrifices of a coach’s kids so it was really a special moment to see them celebrate with Porter,” Callie said.

There is much more, including the afterparty on the Las Vegas Strip. This video is an interesting look at the Super Bowl through the eyes of a Chiefs coach’s family.
