CHP: Garbage bags of marijuana found after Madera County DUI stop

MADERA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 24-year-old man arrested for DUI in Madera County was also found with three large garbage bags full of marijuana, according to the CHP.

CHP says on Monday shortly before 10 p.m., an officer and his partner stopped a white Mercedes for a vehicle code violation on Avenue 12 west of Highway 99. The 24-year-old driver from Visalia was arrested for DUI, according to CHP.

CHP says during a vehicle inventory, an officer located three large garbage bags – full of smaller bags of marijuana.

According to the CHP, the marijuana seized was over 25 pounds. In addition to the DUI, CHP says the driver was booked for suspicion of possession for sale.
