City of Appleton provides update on flooding, recovery efforts following heavy rain

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Appleton released an update on the heavy rain that resulted in flooding on multiple streets, with the National Weather Service reporting that parts of the city experienced over 2.5 inches of rain.

The Appleton Police and Fire Departments, as well as the Department of Public Works, responded to floodwaters immediately, aiding drivers and residents with flooded homes.

UPDATE: Highway 22 reopening soon, situation stabilized

However, according to the release, water levels are beginning to decrease. At the moment, there is not an ongoing concern of flooding.

The City of Appleton continues to work with Outagamie County officials on recovery efforts as well. There is no advisory related to drinking water at this time in Appleton.
