The City of Callaway hosted its annual Callaway Cares event

CALLAWAY, Fla. (WMBB) – The City of Callaway hosted its annual Callaway Care event. The event is aimed at connecting members of the community with different health resources.

It was held at the Callaway Recreational Complex from 10 a.m. to 2 pm.

This was the 3rd time Callaway Callaway hosted the event.

There were activities both outside and inside, for those who wanted to stay out of the heat.
Inside the complex, there were over 60 vendors there to talk to residents about their services.

Outside, residents got to participate in a car show.

“The best part about it is all those proceeds are going to Callaway Elementary School, and that’s sort of what we’ve made the highlight every single year for this Health Fair Health Expo is to make sure that the kids that are going back to school in Callaway are going to be outfitted with whatever it is that they need so that we can take some of that burden off the parents,” fitness owner Liz Hunt said.

Last year, almost 400 people came out to the event and Hunt said they were on track to see even more people this year. She says they hope to have more people come out every year and take advantage of everything the event has to offer.
