City of San Angelo launches initiative to enhance traffic safety

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — At the Concho Valley Farmer’s Market, local officials set up a booth to raise awareness about the increase in traffic-related deaths and serious injuries.

“We’ve identified specific needs through valuable community feedback,” stated Hiron Fernando, project manager at Kimley Horn, a consulting firm involved in the initiative. “Our goal is to collaborate closely with the city officials to develop actionable recommendations for improvement.”

Fernando emphasized the importance of public participation. Residents are encouraged to voice their opinions and suggestions by participating in a survey available for the San Angelo Comprehensive Safety Action Plan.

“We want the community to be actively involved in shaping our strategies,” Fernando added.”From this feedback, we will complete a short list of approximately 10 priority projects, which we aim to implement in the near future.”
