Clinton, Madison schools collaborating in providing business, human resource services

As of Monday, July 1, a partnership is now underway between Clinton Community Schools and the Madison School District through which employees of Madison will provide comprehensive school business and human resources services to Clinton schools.

After 21 years of service to the Clinton district, business manager Carol Wahl provided notice she will be retiring from the district on Dec. 31, 2024.

From now through Wahl’s retirement date, representatives from the Madison business office will work with Wahl to transition business and human resource functions to the Madison team, a joint news release from both districts detailed.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2025, the Madison School District business office will support the Clinton administrative team with budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, recruiting and hiring employees, processing employment related documents, administering employee benefits and other programs and related services.

“This cooperative arrangement is mutually beneficial in that it will result in cost savings for Clinton while generating new revenue for Madison,” the release said. “The agreement is for an initial term of three years but allows either district to terminate the relationship with advance notice should an unanticipated need exist."

“We are excited to partner with the Madison School District in this way. It will provide a substantial cost savings to our district, while also allowing us to receive excellent services from a high-functioning team of professionals who have extensive experience in school district business and human resource functions,” Clinton Superintendent Kevin Beazley said. “In an environment where talent is difficult to find, we are fortunate and grateful for the opportunity to be able to turn to another local school district for assistance.”

Nick Steinmetz, Madison superintendent, said the Madison district seeks opportunities to partner with other organizations and institutions when deemed beneficial.

“As a district, we are incredibly privileged to have a team of highly experienced and highly qualified school business and human resource professionals who have the capacity to support Clinton Community Schools while at the same time continuing to perform their work for our district,” added Steinmetz. “This relationship will create operational efficiencies for both districts while maintaining excellent services.”
