Colorado primary elections: Is it too late to register to vote?

DENVER (KDVR) — Tuesday is the primary election. While it’s far past the deadline to mail in a ballot, there’s still a way you can vote, even if you’re not registered.

During the primary election, Coloradans will vote for district positions that will appear on the general ballot, like the district attorney, state representatives, state senators and the state board of education.

However, if you’re not registered to vote, you’re not too late.

According to Colorado’s Secretary of State, you can register to vote through Tuesday, the only thing that will change is how you receive your ballot.

Voting guide for June 25: Colorado’s primary election

Those who registered to vote up to eight days before the election received their ballots in the mail. If you registered after that, or plan on registering on Tuesday, you’ll have to go into an in-person voter service and polling location.

Just make sure you bring an acceptable form of identification.

Voting ends at 7 p.m., but if you’re in line to vote by 7 p.m., you still have the right to cast your vote, no matter how long it takes after the deadline.

Even if you can’t make it to the ballots on Tuesday to register, it’s worth signing up as it is an election year. The presidential election is coming up in November, and you can register to vote anytime.
