Community Rewards names winners

Dec. 12—City Bank on Thursday announced the 29 recipients of this year's $60,000 Community Rewards program.

Rewards were given to the top five recipients in six categories. United States Search and Rescue Texas Division received an additional $3,000 as the top vote-getter during the month-long voting period. More than 215,000 online votes were cast for the 87 nonprofit agencies in this year's event.

The top five finishers from each of the six categories and their prize amounts are:

— $1,500: Latina Entrepreneur Academy in the Permian Basin

— $500: BAM BizHUB Michael Crain Entrepreneur Foundation

Education and Youth Services

— $4,000: Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest

— $2,000: Civil Air Patrol Three Rivers Composite Squadron

Six $500 "Early Rewards" were given at a virtual kickoff event on Oct. 30. Awards were given to Jesus House of Odessa, CASA of the Permian Basin, Crime Stoppers of Midland, Young Women's Leadership Academy, Communities in Schools in the Permian Basin, and Junior League of Midland.

This year marks the fifth year of City Bank's Community Rewards program in the Permian Basin. Through Community Rewards, City Bank has contributed $300,000 to more than 65 nonprofit groups in the Permian Basin area.
