Complaint details allegations against Abilene man caught in sex trafficking dragnet

The Abilene man caught in a sex trafficking dragnet has been released from the Taylor County Jail on a court supervised release program.

Adrian Alvarez Dominguez, 20, was charged Jan. 31 with second degree felony possession with intent to promote child pornography, according to court documents.

Abilene detectives allegedly found over 500 images of child pornography on his devices.

Dominguez made bail from Taylor County Jail on July 22 on a "court supervised release program," according to jail records. The listed bond amount was $25,000.

Assistant District Attorney Erin Stamey said Friday that CSRP is a supervised bond through the courthouse that requires an application, an interview with probation and a final approval from a judge.

The specific details of Dominguez's conditional release were unclear Monday.

If he does not comply with his CSRP conditions, however, he can get sent back to jail, Stamey said.

If convicted, Dominguez could face two to 20 years behind bars for the second-degree felony charge of possession with intent to distribute child pornography.

Anyone charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

All roads lead back to Snapchat

Abilene Police Officer Ryan Boyd received a tip on Oct. 24, 2023, from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, according to court records.

That tip included information about an Abilene man who allegedly possessed child pornography.

Boyd subsequently began an investigation of snapchat accounts, phone numbers and IP addresses, all of which led back to Dominguez.

A search warrant was issued for his apartment on Jan. 31, and "several devices were confiscated," according to court documents.

After Boyd interviewed Dominguez, he allegedly "confessed to possessing, viewing, storing and trading images that contain child pornography."

Dominguez also allegedly said that he stored the images on his phone so he would "not act out on an actual child."

Boyd downloaded 575 images of alleged child pornography from Dominguez's devices.
