Crack sealing project on SR 26 Monday, Tuesday

Jul. 6—OTHELLO — Road crews will be sealing cracks on a section of State Route 26 extending east from Othello on Monday and Tuesday. As a result, drivers should plan for potential delays.

Crews will be working on 27 miles of road from Othello almost to the junction of SR 26 and US Highway 395, according to a press release from the Washington Department of Transportation.

"Travelers on SR 26 should expect flagger-controlled work zones during daylight hours with delays of about 20 minutes at those zones," the DOT release said.

It's part of the "Strategic Pavement Preservation" project, which is designed to prolong the life of roads throughout the state and reduce the need for major repairs as a result. Crews have been working on roads in Okanogan, Grant and Adams counties since May and are scheduled to keep working through September.
