Dave Yost has MAGA on the mind

In 2016, according to the June 25, story about Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost ("Yost fully embracing conservative issues"), Yost said on Facebook that he "wouldn't support Trump for president, saying, 'Mr. Trump is not merely flawed — his thirst for power at any cost makes him unfit for public trust. What would he not do with public power?'"

In 2024, Yost filed a brief supporting Trump's claim for presidential immunity from charges relating to the Jan. 6 insurrection. He's since joined an amicus brief that claims prosecuting Trump for Jan. 6 is "an attempt to silence or imprison Biden's political rival."

Remember the horror of Jan. 6: the violent mob, the brutal attacks on law enforcement, the smashed doors and windows, the calls to murder the vice president and the Speaker of the House. Remember how Trump watched the riot on television and refused for hours to call off the mob.

Now the question is what would Yost do with public power, since he's willing to forget his moral objections to Trump on his way to (he hopes) the governorship?

It appears that, like so many other MAGA Republicans, Yost has renounced his values and is embracing Trump, thirst for power and all.

Bathrooms aren't all bad

I entered a painting of mine in the Zanesville Museum Art show. It was admitted, but a few days later I was told I had to pick it up because the frame was bad.

I offered to come and get it and fix the frame but was told, there are no free spaces. So, my painting was admitted by the juror Max Barton of the Canton Art Museum but rejected by the head of the Zanesville Art Museum.

The title is "Bathroom Floors."  I'm 81 now and spend a lot of time looking at bathroom floors. I see faces in them, which I painted.

Bathrooms aren't all bad.

Biden might be old but he's not absurd

The U.S. Supreme Court is currently deliberating on Donald Trump’s request for absolute criminal immunity.

That a potential leader of the most powerful country on the planet would request such power is absurd.

There are reports surfacing that he made comments about executing people. One was a staffer who leaked an unfavorable story, another was the retired head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley.

Whether it is true or not, the fact remains that he has asked for complete immunity. Why? He is a convicted felon, he has recently vowed revenge to those who crossed him and he is not fit to run our country.

He should never, ever, be allowed back in the White House. We are better than this. President Joe Biden may be a bit older but he puts his country first, not his ego.
