Davenport rallies for missing man

David MacAllister disappeared right before Mother’s Day in 2017. That’s why his mother, Marilyn MacAllister, holds the Do It For David event every year in Davenport.

The event starts with a motorcycle ride and ends with an event at Hawkeye Motorworks as a reflection of David’s love of motorcycles.

This is the seventh year they’ve held this event to raise awareness, not just for David’s case, but for others as well. Karen McClintick, who volunteers on cases like David’s, came from Minnesota to be part of Saturday’s event.

“He just disappeared into thin air,” McClintick said. “Somebody knows something; somebody needs to say something because it’s went on way too long.”

David is said to have had a backpack, Bible and his cell phone when he last left his home in Bettendorf seven years ago. Anyone who might have information that could help should call Bettendorf police or Crimestoppers.
