DC police arrest suspect for shooting near Nationals Park, search continues for another suspect involved

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Police in D.C. said they arrested a man for a shooting that happened Saturday night near Nationals Park, and are still searching for another man who may have been involved.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the 1200 block of Half Street SE at about 9:18 p.m. There, they found a man who was suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Man hurt in shooting near Nationals Park in Southeast DC

Detectives said 29-year-old Deon Elonte Bookhardt and another suspect had exchanged gunfire when the man was struck.

Brookhardt was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Destruction of Property.
