Deadly snake found coiled on Lake Elsinore family’s staircase
A Lake Elsinore family thought they left the water running only to find a hissing rattlesnake had found its way into their home.
Snake expert and wrangler Ryan Jessup said he was called to the Rosetta Canyon neighborhood Friday night after a woman found the 3-foot red diamond rattlesnake had made it to the top step of her stairs.
“The homeowners were stuck upstairs and had to use an app to unlock their doors for me to enter the home to capture the snake,” Jessup said.
Video showed Jessup using a grab tool to pick up the snake, which was then placed into a plastic container.
No one was injured in the incident.
The family believes the rattler slithered its way in when they left the back door open for their dogs.
Fortunately, the dogs did not confront the snake.
