The list of Democratic politicians urging President Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 election has grown to 30. They join a handful of high-profile celebrities, media personalities and donors pushing for a new name at the top of the ticket.

On Friday alone, eight Democratic lawmakers, including one U.S. senator and seven House members, called on President Joe Biden to step aside in his bid for the White House.

The calls began rolling in after Biden’s disastrous debate performance against the Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump, on June 27. Though Biden has attempted to control the damage with two primetime interviews with leading news anchors and an evening press conference last week, the 81-year-old continues to face intense scrutiny over his age and fitness for office.

Biden has repeatedly insisted he will stay in the race, and in an interview on MSNBC on Friday morning, Biden campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon said the president is “absolutely” still running for the White House.
