When does California’s wildfire season end?

Many residents may wonder how long California’s fire season lasts as three major wildfires continue to burn across Southern California, forcing many to evacuate their homes and leaving others to deal with poor air quality.

Southern California’s fire season typically starts in late spring, around May or June, and continues until October or November, thanks partly to the hot and dry Santa Ana winds.

In Northern California, peak fire season typically begins in June or July and runs until October or November.
