Donald Trump Says DA Fani Willis Is Treating “Patriot” Young Thug “Unfairly”
Donald Trump claims that Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis is treating Young Thug “unfairly.”
During an appearance on Adin Ross’ live stream on Monday (Aug. 5), Ross asked Trump about Thug, who has been in court for two years after being arrested for RICO charges. The kick streamer expressed his desire to see the Atlanta rapper be free and “treated fair,” saying, “So, um, I know Fani Willis treated you very unfairly. I have a friend who’s currently being treated unfairly by her. He’s a rapper named Young Thug.”
The former President of the United States agreed with Ross’ assertion and doubled-down, referring to Thug as a “patriot.” “I heard that, actually,” Trump answered. “So, I’ve heard about him, and I’ve heard he’s being treated very unfairly by [DA Willis], and I would tell her she’s gotta treat these patriots that are being all—it’s terrible. They’re going after them…He’s gotta be treated fairly.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Trump took some time to address President Biden pulling out of the 2024 presidential race, believing his exit was part of a “coup” executed by the Democratic Party.

“He was not only pushed out, it was a coup,” Trump added. “I don’t know if I was brilliant or he was horrible, maybe a combination of both…he’s done tremendous damage to our country. I actually think he’s smarter than [VP Kamala Harris], and I think he’s a really not smart person. She was convenient, she was there. They have much better people. All the people were better than her. They would’ve run, but they didn’t want to go through the roadblock that was her.”
“[Harris] ultra-left, ultra-radical. I just see where 99 vicious terrorists…her policies have destroyed California. San Francisco was the best city in the country, and now, frankly, it’s not even livable.”
Donald Trump calls out Kamala Harris for not doing interviews and says Kamala Harris is incapable of answering hard questions.

Trump and DA Fani Willis have a bit of shared history together, if you couldn’t tell. Willis previously launched a probe into the politician following the results of the 2020 election. On August 14, 2023, a grand jury assembled by District Attorney Willis moved to indict the former President on violations of 16 Georgia statutes, including his own set of RICO charges.
CNN reported at the time that Trump was arrested and booked the following week at the Fulton County jail. He was released 20 minutes afterward and called out Willis for creating “a sad day in America.”
“I thought the election was a rigged election, a stolen election. What has taken place here was a travesty of justice. What they’re doing is election interference. There’s never been anything like it in our country before…We did nothing wrong at all. We have every right, every single right, to challenge an election we think is dishonest.”
