Downtown Mobile parking garage will not be ready for Mardi Gras 2025: city council

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The downtown Mobile parking garage being constructed at the Mobile Civic Center will not be finished in time for Mardi Gras 2025, News 5 has learned.

Construction of the parking garage was initially set to be completed by the end of January 2025, but that is no longer the case.

The Mobile City Council learned in its Tuesday meeting that the parking garage’s completion was delayed because the contract was not awarded in September as anticipated.

The parking garage is expected to be completed in late March, after Fat Tuesday, which is set for March 4 in 2025.
