Six hours later, at approximately 8:30 p.m. Michigan State Police and officers from the Lansing Police Department Violent Crimes Initiative Unit (VCI) were acting on information that led them to the Kensington Meadows Mobile Home Park.

According to MSP, while conducting surveillance in the area, law enforcement saw five suspects entering a vehicle. MSP and VCI units attempted to stop the vehicle. During the traffic stop, however, the vehicle intentionally drove into one of the VCI cars and fled the scene.

The vehicle drove a short distance and stopped, and all five occupants ran. Police say they found three stolen guns in the vehicle.

Police say they located and arrested four of the five suspects. The fifth has yet to be taken into custody, but MSP says his identity is known and is seeking charges from the prosecutor’s office.

Two 18-year-old men were locked up in the Lansing City Jail, and two 16-year-olds are being held in the Ingham County Youth Home. They are all facing weapons charges and resisting and obstructing police offenses.

Additionally, one of the 16-year-old males was identified as the driver and is facing additional charges of felony assault on a police officer and fleeing and eluding police.

No officers were injured during the incident. MSP says that the investigation into the drive-by shooting is ongoing.
