Driver hit while trying to turn left dies 3 days later, SC highway patrol says

A driver died Saturday following a crash on Wednesday, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

A 1993 Buick sedan was driving west on Robert M. Bell Parkway in Aiken County, less than a mile from the city of Aiken, Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway said. The Buick was attempting to turn left onto Trolley Line Road when it was hit by a 2005 Ford coupe driving east on the same road.

The driver of the Buick was transported by EMS to an Augusta University hospital, and died on Saturday at about 10 a.m. The Aiken County Coroner’s Office has not publicly identified the individual.

The highway patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
