Hartsville man dies in crash near Florence, coroner says

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A 34-year-old Hartsville man died in an overnight crash in Florence County, authorities said.

Marelle Tyrece Windham was killed in the crash on North Ebenezer Road near Hoffmeyer Road, about a mile outside of the Florence city limits, Coroner Keith von Lutcken said.

The single-vehicle crash happened at about 11:55 p.m. Thursday when Windham’s GMC SUV ran off the right side of the road while going south on Ebenezer Road, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The SUV hit a ditch and flipped over.

Windham was the only person in the SUV and died at the scene. No additional information was immediately available.
