Early morning crash claims life of Missouri man

CARTHAGE, Mo. — The driver of a pickup truck is dead after being ejected from his vehicle and then hit by a semi.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, about half a mile east of Carthage.

Troopers say the driver of a pickup truck crossed the center line and struck a semi-truck.

After impact, the driver of the pickup truck, Ronnie Gillmore, 43, from Reeds, Missouri, was ejected and then struck by the semi as both vehicles left the roadway.

Gillmore was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 58-year-old driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

This is Troop D’s 90th fatality of the year.
