Electrical fire hits Hook’d Pier Bar and Grill early Wednesday

PANAMA CITY BEACH — Hook’d Pier Bar and Grill experienced an electrical fire on its roof early Wednesday morning, according to a social media post from the restaurant.

Hook’d is one of the more popular destinations for locals and visitors who enjoy dining by the pier.

"July is our busiest month, and this weekend is our peak time," says a post on the Hook’d Pier Bar and Grill Facebook page.

The seafood restaurant is calling for other local restaurants to help its staff find temporary work until Hook'd can rebuild.

”We will come back stronger, but it’s our team that we are worried about right now,” the post says.

“Our kitchen crew is simply irreplaceable and our front-of-house team is the best there is. To those making vile posts and doubting our resilience, we have one request: hold our beer and watch us rebuild,” the post adds.

Weather news: Conditions for July 3, 2024: Yellow flags for Bay County; heat advisory until 7 p.m.

Facebook commenters chimed in with support and love after learning about the fire.

"So sorry to hear. My favorite restaurant on the beach," one woman wrote.

More information will be provided as it becomes available. Hook’d Pier Bar and Grill is located at 16201 Front Beach Road.
