Elvis Presley's Memphis crypt auction called off after worldwide protest

Washington, June 24 (ANI): The auction of Elvis Presley's Crypt in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Memphis has been called off following a worldwide outcry from the icon's fans. The crypt, which remained empty after Presley was reburied at his home in Graceland, was due to be auctioned off to benefit Music Icons. The singing legend's fans want to see it continue to be retained as a monument to the influential singer. Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, California had announced back in May that it would sell the empty tomb, but insisted that they were planning to wait "until Forest Hills finds a plan that best suits the interests of the fans while respecting and preserving the memory of Elvis Presley." But any plans to sell and move the tomb have been completely scraped now. (ANI)
