EPPD: Woman dead after crash involving pedestrian in South-Central El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A woman is dead following a crash involving a pedestrian Wednesday evening, June 19 in South-Central El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department (EPPD).

EPPD said that the Special Traffic Investigators responded to a crash involving a pedestrian at 11:45 p.m. June 19 along the Loop 375 eastbound Mile Marker 55 in the area of Modesto Park.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the woman, who has not been identified, was attempting to cross the traffic lanes of Loop 375 from south to north when she was struck by a car that was traveling eastbound.

EPPD said the woman died on the scene from the injuries sustained.

The main contributing factor in this crash is the pedestrian on the roadway, according to EPPD.

EPPD said this is the 32nd traffic fatality of 2024 compared to 35 at the same time in 2023.
