Ethel Kennedy buried at Arlington Cemetery Monday. What Kerry Kennedy said.
Ethel Kennedy, philanthropist and matriarch of the Kennedy family, was buried Monday at Arlington National Cemetery, more than a month after her Cape Cod funeral on Oct. 14.
"Today, Mummy was laid to rest next to Daddy at Arlington National Cemetery," daughter Kerry Kennedy wrote on X. "Her extraordinary life and enduring legacy will continue to guide and inspire us. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this time."
Ethel Kennedy died Oct. 10, after having a stroke the previous week. Her death triggered an outpouring of support from Cape Cod, as well as national celebrities.

She was the wife of former United States Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1968 during his campaign for presidency. She had 11 children, and dozens of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in one of the country's most politically prominent families. She was 96 when she died.
President Joseph Biden was one of the people to speak at Ethel Kennedy's memorial service in Washington D.C. Former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton also spoke.
