Ogie Alcasid said his ex-wife Michelle van Eimeren and their two daughters are very excited now that he is expecting his first child with Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.

“I called my kids. Yung bunso ko sigaw ng sigaw, kasi gusto nya talaga baby brother. And then yung teenager ko (masaya rin),” Ogie said in a taped interview with “24 Oras” last Monday, July 4.

He added, “And then sina Michelle, sina Mark Murrow (Michelle's husband), they were very, very excited also. Everybody is really, really happy.”

Last Sunday on GMA's noontime variety show “Party Pilipinas,” Regine and Ogie announced that they are expecting a baby boy.

“The doctor said it's 97 percent boy,” Regine revealed.

Ogie also said that they are planning to name their son Timothy Joseph. According to the “24 Oras” report, the “Bubble Gang” mainstay had long wanted this name for his son.

“We wanted a biblical name,” he explained.

Timothy may be based on Saint Timothy, associated with the two New Testament books written by Paul, while Joseph is a common name in both the Old and New Testaments of the Christian Bible.

The singer-songwriter also said he is seeing happiness in Regine that he has “not seen in her in many years.”

“Alam mo si Regine, bago matulog, nakangiti. Paggising, nakangiti,” he said.

Regine confirmed her pregnant last April 17 after weeks of speculation. At that time, the Asia's songbird said she was seven weeks pregnant.
