Expect rain, thunderstorms in Piedmont Triad this week

(WGHP) — The Piedmont’s rainy pattern will continue.

A southwest wind flow off of the Gulf of Mexico will bring lots of moisture into the Piedmont. With daytime heating, scattered thunderstorms will develop. Some thunderstorms or showers will be able to bring heavy rain totals. As a result, neighborhoods and communities need to be aware that flash flooding could happen. Highs on Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the middle 80s.

A weak front will approach the Piedmont on Thursday. Thursday could be our wettest day with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Flash flooding will be possible.

On Friday, expect scattered showers and thunderstorms with highs in the lower 80s.

The southwest wind flow off of the Gulf of Mexico will begin to break down over the weekend. Highs will be in the lower 80s on Saturday. The chance of rain is 40%.

We’ll see partly cloudy skies on Sunday with highs in the middle 80s. The chance of rain is down to 20%.

Monday will be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 80s. The chance of rain is 20%.
