Fairmont stabbing suspect being held in North Central Regional Jail on $100K bond

Jul. 25—FAIRMONT — A Fairmont man is being held in the North Central Regional Jail on $100,000 bond after his arrest for malicious wounding.

Fairmont Police arrested and charged 39-year-old Richard Allen Moore II, of Fairmont, for a stabbing that took place July 26 in the parking lot of the Fairmont Bowling Center.

Fairmont Police Chief Steve Shine with the aid of the Marion County Sheriff's Office, captured Moore after he fled the scene on foot. The stabbing happened after a physical brawl that began in the bowling alley. An arrest warrant was issued shortly after the stabbing.

"Statements were taken from witnesses that indicated a man came into the bowling alley and started a verbal argument with the victim. This male would later be identified as the suspect of the stabbing, 39-year-old Richard Allen Moore II," Shine stated in a previous press release.

While the name of the victim has not been released, he is 29 years old had been transported to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital where he was treated for a deflated lung. The victim appeared to have been stabbed once on the right side of his chest, "just below his right pectoral."
